Olympic Triathlon (Charlevoix) : That triathlon was one of the best experience I had this summer : everything went just as planned and I finished strong on the 10K run.

Olympic Triathlon (Fjord) : That one was the most intimidating event that I’ve ever done. We were only like 3 or 4 participants not wearing a wetsuit for the very cold and very agitated swim. At some point, I even got lost in the middle of nowhere without anyone in sight! (Not very safe). Out of the water, I felt completely “empty” for the rest of the event.

Sprint Triathlon (Valleyfield) : My last race of the season was very enjoyable despite being one of the most painful race of the year. I’ve pushed myself so hard this summer that I had to pay the price of over training. I’ve learn a lot this year and I’m proud of what I accomplished.

10 days ago was my 3rd sprint triathlon of the season, this time in my home town. It was great to hear the cheers from my friends and family! As expected, I came out of the water in the last pack and started my chase from there. I had a great feeling on the bike and was able to do a good time and pass many faster swimmer while saving some energy for the run. However, I lost almost 30 seconds in T2 searching for my spot because someone removed my big yellow bag! Anyway I finished pretty strong with an impressive run leg and I managed to finish 4th out of 15 in my AG which is good for me in this race. Now I can’t wait for the next step which is the Olympic Triathlon at Charlevoix! (I trained the whole year for Olympic distance)

My second triathlon of the season earlier this morning was just awesome! I was feeling great and the weather was perfect for the crowd but also very windy! The bike and run legs were harder than usual but it was the same for everyone so it didn’t really matters.

Just like last week, the start of the swim was a frenetic “Full-Contact” version of the sport (It’s often the case with a massive start). I liked it even if I came out of the water a little bit late. My transitions were lightning-fast but I suffered on the technical and windy bike leg… I had a great feeling coming off the bike and I passed most of the slower athletes on the run. I will always remember the crazy last 500 meters sprint (that was my most epic finish ever!) because I ran side by side with a younger athlete and “won” by less than 0.3 seconds!! Thanks to that guy who forced me to give everything! I finished 4th within my group and was very happy to finish strong.
